IKEOLU BIOBAKU
Ikeolu Biobaku is the Chief Responsibility Officer and Creative Director, Mix N’ Bake-where she combines both the art and science of baking with an unwavering commitment to drastically reduce unemployment in Africa. An alumnus of Lagos Business School, Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) and a graduate of Economics from the University of Ibadan; she was formally a banker who resigned to develop and pursue her passion in confectionery, sugar-craft and decorations. A passion that she had nurtured for as long as she was old enough to help her mother bake.
Although born with a natural creative flair for baking and cake decorating, she understands that mastering her talent required many late nights of dedicated practice so she spent over 15 years honing her specialist bakery skills. She attended the New York Institute of Culinary Education; The Wilton School of Cake Decorating-Chicago, Squires Kitchen International School of Cake Decorating UK., French Pastry School Chicago, Rekivita Emulsifying Systems for Bakery Production and Technology Singapore, PME Knightsbridge International School of Cake Decorating and Sugar craft U.K., Nicholas Lodge International sugar art School of Cake Decorating Norcross Atlanta Georgia and many more including leadership schools across diverse continents.
Through her creative art school and free empowerment programs, she refined her expertise to train more than ten thousand students who now own profitable ventures locally and internationally. She partners with The Wilton International school of confectionery and Sugarart in Chicago USA and the PME UK Knightsbridge school in the UK to bring their training to Nigeria.
Ikeolu has received several local and international awards some of which includes; The 2019 Century Award by Wilton USA for issuing more than 100 certificates internationally. Currently, she stands on the wall of Honour and Fame at the PME UK, for awarding the highest number of PME UK Certificates to students internationally.
Ikeolu’s cakes are works of edible art – she has researched thousands of diverse themes ever striving to feed the eye as well as the heart; garnering fresh design and recipe inspiration to further explore confectionery arts. Positive feedback remains the greatest reward with clients claiming these cakes were so beautiful they were moved to tears, brides being more excited about their cake than their dresses, and families transitioning from wedding cakes, christening, birthday to anniversary cakes. She serves several generations of customers , from mothers who have become grand mothers and their children and grand children.
She is an associate member of WIMBIZ, the largest organisation of women in Africa and is highly committed to making the best use of her talent and what GOD has entrusted her with to inspire change in her sector globally. She stays committed to honing her craft by attending cake shows and trainings regularly around the world.
Ikeolu is proof that with God, consistency, hard work & perseverance any woman can be who she wants to be and do more!
She is happily married to Tunde Biobaku and is a mother to two lovely young women.
